IJA 2008 - celebration of best Italian & new British jewellery
The launch of the Italian Jewellery Awards took place in Amalfi on Saturday 15.11.2008. A spectacular ceremony at the charming Santa Caterina, attended by Italian and British jewellery specialists, buyers, management and press from the international jewellery world. Free-style dancers showcased pieces of jewellery in connection with the set jewellery categories to be awarded. Among the attending guests were Asprey, Georg Jensen, Sotherby`s VOGUE, Vacheron Constantin, BJA, De Beers Group etc represented. Event Manger Olga Carola-Downing said; The aim of the IJA is to promote jewellery, crafts and the `terroir` of the Amalfi region. The IJA also awards the best Young British Jewellery Designer 2008; an award which brings fantastic business opportunities from the attending guests and beyond. The Italian jewellery consortiums are rarely united, making tonight`s` event even more special for finalists and guests alike.
